Deloitte IMPACT Day
IMPACT Day is a national, firm-wide day of service that provides employees the opportunity to participate in locally-driven projects to support community needs.
In 2012, Deloitte registered 327 employees in the DC metro region for this annual volunteer event. On this one day, Deloitte employees volunteered at 4 sites and supported 4 different nonprofit organizations.
In the Washington, D.C. Metro region, Volunteer Fairfax helped coordinate IMPACT Day by providing project development, project management, evaluation, and consultation services. The volunteer center directly managed four projects sites.
2012 Accomplishments
In just one day, Deloitte volunteers:
- Created 50 scrapbooks to be given to low-income families participating in Head Start programs.
- Engaged directly with high school students, providing them with valuable information on a number of important topics including personal finance, interviewing skills, professional etiquette and preparing for their future.
- Painted classrooms, hallways, and other indoor areas, cleaned classrooms, building exteriors, and more at a local park and cultural center.
- Escorted and accompanied residents who cannot walk without assistance through carnival-type activities around the campus of a senior home.
