The Fairfax County Citizen Corps Council harnesses the power of every member of the community through education, training and volunteer service in order to make communities better prepared to respond to all hazards and disasters. Comprised of local government, first responders and other community organizations crucial to emergency response, the Council strives to promote emergency preparedness and to develop volunteer opportunities and training to meet community needs. In addition, the Council serves as an official Fairfax County advisory body to promote federal and state volunteer initiatives, enhance services, facilitate the exchange of information and training, and support partnerships.
