Group Volunteering

Below are the various types of group projects available throughout Fairfax County and the Washington, D.C., Metro region.

What type of group opportunity are you looking for?

  • One-time group opportunities are available throughout the year and are projects that have no specific date and require interested groups to coordinate with agencies to schedule a date and time that is convenient for both parties.
  • Seasonal one-time opportunities are projects that occur annually around the same time each year and have specific dates and times for these events.
  • Off-site opportunities are projects that are completed for a particular agency but can be done from any site. For example, baking cookies at home and taking them to a local senior center.
  • Immediate group opportunities are projects that occur on a specific date in the immediate future. The projects vary in type, but are in immediate need of volunteers.

If an opportunity you are inquiring about has already been completed, do not hesitate to ask the agency if they have additional needs that would be suitable for your group.
