Thank you volunteers for making the 2019 NVSO a success!
Check back to this page in the coming weeks as we begin to share photos of NVSO competitors and volunteers taken by our talented volunteer photographers corps.
RSVP – Northern Virginia is again the official volunteer partner of the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO), the largest annual competition for those over 50 in our area. Each September the NVSO depends on more than 100 volunteers to ensure that the games go smoothly.
Read about one of the NVSO’s inspirational competitors, former longtime Fairfax County resident Doris Woodring, who turned 109-years-old in June. Last year she was the NVSO’s oldest competitor and oldest gold medal winner at 108. She is currently honing her game to repeat her gold medal performance in Mexican Train Dominoes, September 19th, in Falls Church. To read Doris’ story, please click Prepare to be Inspired

More about the NVSO
The NVSO is a nonprofit started in 1982, organized and operated by volunteers and sponsored by local county and city park authorities, recreation and senior agencies. The NVSO is funded through donations from local businesses and through a nominal $15 registration fee participants pay at sign up.
Volunteers fill a wide scope of duties from acting as timers and greeters at events to being part of the NVSO board of directors. RSVP is proud to be part of this great event, whose motto is “Living Healthy Longer.”
