Looking to give back during the holiday season? You've come to the right place! Active holiday needs throughout the region will load below. (You may need to wait a moment for it to populate). Volunteering is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give, so please give back today. To learn more about a volunteer need or to sign up, just click on the opportunity.
To feature your holiday opportunities above, sign in and post a Volunteer Opportunity. When submitting an opportunity, be sure to select "Handbook for Holiday Heroes" in the "Great For" field to be included in the Volunteer Fairfax Handbook for Holiday Heroes! A holiday volunteer opportunity is any opportunity that occurs in the Washington, D.C./ Metro Region between September 5, 2014 and January 19, 2015. Opportunities must either fall on a holiday (examples include 9-11 Day of Service, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and MLK Jr Day of Service) or be in support of programs which celebrate a holiday. They can also be volunteering opportunities that families can do in the comfort of their own home, such as making a blanket or bagged meal for clients.
Don't Forget Your Donation Needs! List your donation needs on the Volunteer Fairfax Donations Guide today! To submit donation needs, please log in to the Volunteer Fairfax database. Once logged in click on "My Organization" and then the "Donation Needs" tab and add a new donation need. Be sure to select either "Holiday" or "Winter" in the "Season" field! The Guide will be distributed throughout the community in early November and accessible all season long.
