- VolunteerFest (October 21-28, 2017) is a region-wide day of community service held in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day. VolunteerFest mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to help nonprofits accomplish tasks that they would not have the time or resources to do on their won. Join hands-on projects such as landscaping, maintaining outdoor classrooms at local elementary schools, sorting thrift shop donations, and many others. Everyone is encouraged to participate!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Every year, the nation celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a national holiday honoring Dr. King’s message of peace and empowerment. In recognition of Dr. King’s message, this day has been designated as a National Day of Service. Volunteer Fairfax participates in the MLK Day of Service by inviting children of all ages to engage in volunteering with the presentation of Give Together: A Family Volunteer Day and the Volunteers for Change Valentine's Challenge. Both events will take place on January 15, 2018.
- Global Youth Service Day (April 20, 2018): Every April, young people everywhere are spring into action by joining the worldwide service extravaganza Global Youth Service Day. In over 135 countries, from Jakarta to Australia, from Spain to the National Capital region, a million junior volunteers make an impact on their local communities. That’s powerful! Youth ages 5 to 25 participate in this day of service.
