Volunteer Opportunities that are Just for Youth!

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop

If you're under 18 and looking to earn hours for school or — more importantly — make a difference in your community, you've come to the right place! To get started right away, visit our database of Service-Learning Opportunities.

Once you find an opportunity you can get excited about, carefully consider the location, time requirements, and work responsibilities before you make a commitment to the organization. The more you think your wants and needs through, the better chance you have of having fun while you volunteer and making a positive difference in your community.

Volunteer Fairfax also gives you other ways to find agencies that need your help and to earn service hours. Each fall, we team up with the Fairfax County Public Libraries to host teen volunteer fairs across the county. To find one in your neighborhood, check out the upcoming Community Events. If you're in middle school, then there's a way to earn service hours without leaving the classroom. Read more about our After-School Service-Learning Program.

Additionally, Volunteer Fairfax offers a Patch Program to Girl Scouts that teaches the value of giving back to the community. Participants complete service projects, learn the basics of volunteerism, and earn a patch to show their care for the community.
