Leah Lamba-Skidmore has dedicated more than 20 years to strengthening the Franconia community through thoughtful leadership in land use and development. Known for her deep expertise and commitment to public engagement, Leah has played a critical role in shaping how the community grows and evolves.
Leah previously served for over five years as Chair of the Franconia District Land Use Committee, where she led efforts to review development proposals and guide community input. In this role and beyond, she has helped ensure that residents’ perspectives are clearly communicated to the Planning Commission and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Today, she continues her service as an active committee member, contributing to monthly reviews and recommendations that impact the entire district.
At the neighborhood level, Leah is a dedicated member of the Crestleigh Homeowners Association and serves as its representative to the Land Use Committee. She regularly attends community meetings, helping residents understand complex proposals and how they may affect their neighborhood.
Leah also serves on the Franconia-Springfield Transit Station Area Comprehensive Plan Study Advisory Group, where she collaborates with stakeholders to evaluate future development scenarios and contribute to long-term planning recommendations for the Springfield area.
Respected for both her knowledge and her ability to communicate clearly, Leah is a trusted mentor to her peers. She has helped broaden community understanding of land use issues and has played a key role in finding balanced solutions that address community concerns. Through her sustained leadership, Leah has strengthened civic engagement and helped guide responsible growth in Franconia.
