Event presented in collaboration with VITA, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program With assistance from Volunteer Fairfax and Fairfax County Department of Family Services
On a recent Saturday, Deloitte professionals volunteered their time and expertise to help area individuals and families file 2017 tax returns at their 11th Annual Community Tax Assistance Day. The event was held at the Fairfax SkillSource Center in Annandale.
Each year the mission of the event is the same: To ensure that qualified earners claim all tax credit to which they are entitled and enjoy the cost savings of not having to pay out-of-pocket for the service. And, there’s more to that story.
Amir, a young professional just starting out in the computer business, came to the event with his mom. With his return in hand, he stopped at the Volunteer Fairfax table. He pronounced with a big smile, “I am so happy with this service today! I want to volunteer! I want to give back!” Amir’s mom followed up saying, “I drove Meals on Wheels all through college. Maybe we can do that.”
