“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
2026 MLK Day of Service – Your Impact
On January 19, 2026, nearly 800 community members and 14 partner organizations banded together to complete 15 service projects and activities in order to address some critical issues such as food insecurity, family support, elder care, environmental stewardship, mental health, and emergency preparedness. It was a remarkable day of service honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After completing the projects below, participants ended at Volunteer Fairfax’s “Reflection Station” to decorate door hangers to take home and serve as a reminder of Martin Luther King Jr.’s message, “Everyone can be great, because anyone can serve”.- Food for Others
