Leidos has a mission to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient. This means that we are helping to build a future where our people and technology make a real impact, greatly improving quality of life and promoting inclusive well-being. An important part of this is a commitment to the communities where we live and work. Our partnership with Volunteer Fairfax (VF) helps us serve Northern Virginia.
Through our philanthropic efforts, we strive to create a sustainable future that includes working side-by-side with community organizations providing critical services and opportunities to those most in need. This is why we’re pleased to be a founding member of Volunteer Fairfax’s Impact Collective. The Impact Collective is a group of civic-minded local businesses that support VF’s mission of leading, connecting, and mobilizing people and resources to build capacity for stronger communities.
Leidos has a long history of employee engagement. We applaud our employees for their efforts in supporting our vision to improve the lives of the communities where they live and work. According to Daniel Pellegrom, our Director of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) and Social Responsibility, “I think one of the greatest strengths of Leidos is the commitment of our employees to the issues they care about. We really have a strong legacy of employee engagement, and when you leverage the passion, energy, and intelligence of our team in communities all across the country you can see real impact.”
Employee Michael Strittmatter agrees – “The thing I enjoy most about volunteering is the ability to really meet my community, meet the people who live in it, and have a positive effect on people’s lives.” In 2022, Leidos employees contributed almost 80,000 volunteer hours to a wide variety of company-sponsored events as well as the personal causes that reflect their varied passions and interests. These causes range from environment, health, and community services to STEM education and military/veterans. Volunteer Fairfax provides volunteer opportunities in these and other areas where our employees want to serve.
We’re proud of the impact Leidos employees made in 2022 working with organizations such as Volunteer Fairfax and look forward to seeing their continuing efforts this year.
