VOLUNTEER FAIRFAX presents the Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend of Service event kicking off on Wednesday, January 10 with a community conversation on racial equity practices and will host, Give Together, a family-friendly volunteer event taking place on MLK, Jr. Day, Monday, January 15, 2023.

When:                MLK Jr. Day, Monday, January 15, 2023

Where:               Give Together, our family friendly event for families with school age children will be held in Annandale at Northern Virginia Community College, this event is free and open to the public. Registration is required, find information here.

What:                 Give Together is a family-friendly event featuring hands on service projects designed specifically for school age children. Kids complete service projects on site with the help of nonprofit partners and teen event volunteers. Projects address a variety of mission areas including food insecurity, elder support and caring kits, emergency response, environmental stewardship, animal welfare and more.

Why:                  Volunteer Fairfax’s MLK Weekend of Service seeks to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s vision of a “Beloved Community.” A community that seeks to empower individuals, build bridges of understanding, and address social problems through volunteerism.  We are proud to partner with several local nonprofit partners for this event including: Fairfax County Department of Emergency Response, Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Capital Caring Health, Kids Give Back, Computer Core, the Pozez Jewish Community Center and Hidden Oaks Nature Center.
