For the past 24 years, Volunteer Fairfax has hosted its annual fall volunteering event, VolunteerFest, to mobilize volunteers across Fairfax County to new help nonprofits and government agencies accomplish wish list projects and to meet new volunteers.  We are honored to say that Volunteer Fairfax is committed to doing that again this year on October 24th and 25th.

We understand that COVID-19 has had a big impact on our community and supporting our nonprofit partners with volunteer engagement is more important than ever.  While many of the traditional, large-scale opportunities are not possible this year, we are encouraged by the creativity and resiliency we see in our nonprofit partners and volunteers who are eager to make a difference.

Nonprofit Organization Participation Information

Is your agency interested in participating? Given the current size restrictions, social distancing, and PPE requirements for all in-person gatherings due to COVID-19, we are encouraging agency partners to propose virtual or at-home project opportunities or to hold virtual information sessions about their volunteer programs. We will consider some small, in-person activities if your organization can organize the project and independently supervise volunteers in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines. To discuss project ideas for inclusion in VolunteerFest please contact Hollie Gordon at hgordon@volunteerfairfax.org. Project selections will be finalized by September 11th.
