Volunteer Fairfax is dedicated to building nonprofit capacity by providing a range of programs and service to our members.   Our volunteer management system allows nonprofits to increase their visibility in the community to promote one-time service opportunities or to post about ongoing volunteer recruitment for your organization.  Through ongoing communications with nearly 5,000 active volunteers across Fairfax County, we seek to build awareness around community needs and to promote the benefits of volunteerism and civic engagement to the public throughout the greater Metro DC area.

We also provide training for our nonprofit members to support volunteer leaders in learning about current trends, exploring best practices and to encourage sharing ideas.  Find a list of current training opportunities below.  A new resource from our training library are our Disability and Inclusion toolkits and training video to support nonprofit partners seeking to welcome people of all abilities in their volunteering programs.  We also have a guide for volunteers with disabilities to help them navigate working with local nonprofits to ensure a good fit.  These resources were developed by a taskforce of DEI experts and advocates and are a great way to get started working with this underutilized network of ready, able and willing volunteers in the disabilities community.  Get more information on all these topics by exploring the resources below.
