Cheyenne Shelby-Petersen currently serves as the Senior Manager of Strategic Relations on the External Affairs team at Chicago Cares.  Her passion for leadership development, dedication to equity, and joy for building relationships drive her work. Cheyenne joined the Chicago Cares staff full-time as a coordinator on the programs team in 2020 and has since dedicated her time to advancing anti-racist, equitable practices throughout the organization, and relationships with volunteers. Cheyenne currently sits on Chicago Care’s Equity Task Force, and continuously seeks new ways to influence volunteers to rethink volunteerism and make the shift from transactional to transformational.
