Jennifer Williamson is a Fairfax native with deep roots in the community and a lifelong commitment to service. As Chief Executive Officer of Volunteer Fairfax, the largest volunteer center in Virginia and the fifth largest in the nation, she leads efforts to strengthen volunteerism, civic engagement, and community resilience through partnerships across the nonprofit, business, and public sectors. In recognition of her leadership and community impact, she was inducted into the Fairfax County Public Schools Hall of Fame in 2025.

Before joining Volunteer Fairfax, Williamson served as Vice President of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the region’s largest chamber, where she worked with a diverse membership of businesses, nonprofits, local governments, and academic institutions. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Nonprofit and Association Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, as well as a bachelor’s degree in human communication from James Madison University.

Williamson is an active nonprofit and civic leader beyond her role at Volunteer Fairfax. She serves as Chair of the Virginia Service Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the Points of Light Affiliate Assembly. She has also held national volunteer leadership roles with the American Society of Association Executives, including chairing committees focused on professional conduct and ethics.

A dedicated lifelong learner, Williamson holds numerous professional credentials spanning nonprofit leadership, fundraising, association management, human resources, volunteer administration, and event management, including CFRE, CAE, IOM, CMP, SHRM-CP, CVA, and ACNP.

Outside of work, Williamson loves to travel and explore new places and can often be found kayaking closer to home—sometimes combining time on the water with one of her favorite forms of volunteering: removing trash from local waterways.
