Marianne Alicona
Director of Development

Marianne joined Volunteer Fairfax in 2019 and has been serving the nonprofit sector for over 12 years after successfully transitioning from a career in corporate business development. Marianne has overseen development and strategic communications for local, national, and international nonprofits concentrating on girl empowerment, workforce development, and education. Her strong background in programs, finance, and operations has helped Marianne be seen as a valued collaborator on leadership teams, and an asset to boards of directors and junior staff. She is a co-lead for VF’s Community Conversations initiative where she works to advocate for a just and equitable society and sits on VF’s IED+ workgroup. Marianne received her Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University in 2020 and has an MBA from George Washington University. When not working towards impact in her day job, Marianne can be found enjoying time with her blended family and volunteering in the community.
