Rob Paine came to RSVP-Northern Virginia in 2017 after an extensive career in local and national journalism at community newspapers throughout the country. He also was a photo and captions editor for The Associated Press in Washington for nearly a decade. Rob has a long history of civic involvement.  He currently sits on the board of The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics and directs all of this nonprofit’s advertising and media outreach, an opportunity he was matched with as an RSVP volunteer. Rob is a native of Staten Island, NY and grew up in The City of Fairfax.  He is a graduate of Fairfax High School and earned a BA in journalism at Lynchburg (VA) College.  Rob is an award-winning photojournalist and teaches photography. Rob is a major proponent of internships. While a photo coach at what was one of the country’s largest wedding photography studios, he created and managed a national photography internship program recruiting students from several of the most prestigious photo schools in the nation.  He also enjoys speaking to classes and photography clubs. When not working or volunteering Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and their two rescue dogs, travelling, watching sports and photographing nature.
