BusinessLink

Volunteer Fairfax works with several corporations in the DC metro area to help manage large days of service for employee volunteers. Each corporate day is different, but there are certain qualities that will help make your project a success:

Announcing 2011 BusinessLink Projects!

Mark your calendars! Volunteer Fairfax will begin recruiting for two group service projects after the New Year. Both group projects will be held in the spring of 2011, with two BusinessLink projects, May 25 and June 10. Projects should accommodate at least 50 volunteers, with a preference to projects that accommodate more than 75 volunteers. Nonprofit agencies must be a registered member of Volunteer Fairfax to apply and registration is free. If your agency is not registered, please contact Christine Coffey at (703) 246-3825 to register today! If you are interested in submitting a project proposal for one or more of these opportunities, contact Christine Coffey as well.

Volunteer Fairfax is always looking for group projects of all sizes for corporate, community and school groups who contact the center on a regular basis. If your nonprofit can accommodate groups of 10 or more and has an idea for a group project, you can enter this need by logging in to your account, or by contact Volunteer Fairfax staff.

Best Practices for BusinessLink Projects

  • Projects should have enough work to keep 50-150 motivated and efficient volunteers busy for at least 4 hours.
  • Projects should make a visible difference to your organization or client base.
  • Projects should be thought through and well organized.
  • A designated staff member must be assigned to this event to coordinate planning and be on-site during the event.
  • Agency-wide support of the project is essential.
